Our Achievement

  • 8,000 students trained in calisthenics
  • The first Osun Education Summit held to chart a new path for education in the state
  • 300,000 pupils fed daily under the Osun Elementary School Feeding and Health Programme (OMEALS)
  • 25% increase in enrolment within four weeks of the introduction of the revised O’MEALS programme
  • 750,000 students provided with free school uniform under the O’UNIFORM programme
  • 150,000 Tablet of knowledge(OPON IMO), a mini ipad-like electronic device preloaded with 17 subjects, 54 textbooks, and 100,000 past questions and answers of JAMB, WAEC AND NECO of the past 10years
  • N3b spent annually to feed over 300,000 pupils in Elementary Schools over the state
  • Secondary School basic  funding grants from N171 million to N427 million per year
  • Over 2,000 classrooms being built all over the state under the school infrastructure revamp programme (O’SCHOOLS)
  • Over 3,000 citizens employed in the education sector to strengthen the manpower needs
  • 3 educational districts created in the state and headed by a Tutor General/ Permanent Secretary.
  • 0ver 40 buses provided in the first ever school transportation programme in the State.
  • 30% reduction in fees payable in tertiary institutions in the state.
  • Leads in primary school enrolment in the whole of the country

Next Steps

  • To start the second phase of the school infrastructure upgrade
  • To sustain and improve the gains of the Osun School Feeding Programme and make it a national programme
  • To build more charging centres for the 150,000 Tablet of knowledge(OPON IMO), a mini ipad-like electronic device preloaded with 17 subjects, 54 textbooks, and 100,000 past questions and answers of JAMB, WAEC AND NECO of the past 10yearsin schools
  • Sustain leading  in primary school enrolment in the whole of the country
